Mother’s Day Gratitudes

-snuggles and sharing Hershey’s kisses

-eating lunch slowly and engaging in deep conversations

-the scents of sunscreen, chlorine, and freshly laundered beach towels

-giggling, splashing, and imaginary games

-quiet moments to listen to an audio book with no task to complete

-for the first time since 2005, enjoying a slower pace on Mother’s Day and not rushing to pack suitcases and head back home

My favorite Mother’s Day: soaking up the simple joys
